Madhu Kumar was born and raised in India where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. She moved to Canada in 2001, and lived in Toronto and Ottawa before moving to Regina in 2011. Madhu pursued her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Regina with Great Distinction in 2017. Her oil portraits, and paintings of horses and landscapes have been in juried exhibitions in Ottawa and Regina. Her works are in private collections in India, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, The United States of America and Canada.
Madhu is currently working on a series of large-scale paintings depicting the experience of immigrant women in Canada and involved in David Garneau’s Edmonton Tawanina Bridge art project.
